Pakistan not helping Taliban: Musharraf

Pakistan is not a banana state we know that Mr. President because Pakistan is a terrorist state. Saying ISI Pakistan intelligence service is not helping Taliban’s and other terrorist organization is just a laugh. The ISI is one of the most tarnished entities in Pakistani history and infrastructure.

Look at your recent example, a peace agreement between Pakistan and your law less state Waziristan. You had given free heaven to these terrorist saying that if Taliban’s behave Pakistan will not arrest them and will return their weapons and other terrorist too. What a joke!!

Second advising that Taliban could be won by recruiting them into the Afghan army is another show of your fail mind; if Afghanistan takes your advice like this one I am sure the result will be the massacre of millions of Afghans. It would be better for you and for your country is instead of defending your ISI, try to put some checks on their activities.

BERLIN: Pakistan is not a banana state and the allegations that a Pakistani intelligence agency is helping the Taliban and other militants are baseless, President General Pervez Musharraf said in an interview with a German magazine, Focus, here on Saturday.

“Pakistan is not a banana republic. Our army is well organised and loyal. Army personnel constitute the major chunk of the intelligence agency. Intelligence personnel have been changed from two to three times since 1990,” he said.

Britain says Pakistan is hiding Taliban chief

THE British general commanding Nato troops in Afghanistan is to confront Pakistan’s president over his country’s support for the Taliban.

Among the evidence amassed is the address of the Taliban’s leader in a Pakistani city.

Lieutenant-General David Richards will fly to Islamabad tomorrow to try to persuade Pervez Musharraf to rein in his military intelligence service, which Richards believes is training Taliban fighters to attack British troops. He will request that key Taliban leaders living in Pakistan be arrested.

The evidence compiled by American, Nato and Afghan intelligence includes satellite pictures and videos of training camps for Taliban soldiers and suicide bombers inside Pakistan.

Captured Taliban fighters and failed suicide bombers have confirmed that they were trained by the Pakistani intelligence service, known as the ISI. The information includes an address in Quetta where Mullah Omar, the Taliban leader, is said to live.

Musharraf had publicly acknowledged “a Taliban problem on the Pakistan side of the border”, said Richards. “Undoubtedly something has got to happen,” he added.

“I feel real vitriol seeing our boys dying because of Pakistan,” said one British officer”

WASHINGTON: Pakistan is in the crosshairs of western military commanders as the source, supplier and instigator of terrorism, notwithstanding periodic certifications from the Bush administration that is a frontline ally in the war on terror.

Commanders from five Nato countries – the US, Britain, Denmark, Canada and Holland — whose troops have just fought the bloodiest battle with the Taliban in five years, are demanding their governments get tough with Pakistan over the support and sanctuary its security services provide to the Taliban, according to Ahmad Rashid, a prominent Pakistani analyst and author of an well-known book on Taliban.

In a dispatch from Afghanistan that is roiling Washington, Rashid says Nato’s report on Operation Medusa, an intense battle that lasted from September 4-17, “demonstrates the extent of the Taliban’s military capability and states clearly that Pakistan’s Interservices Intelligence (ISI) is involved in supplying it.”

KABUL - Would-be suicide bombers detained in Afghanistan claim they have been brainwashed and equipped by Arab, Chechen and Uzbek militants in Pakistan, the Afghan intelligence service said Wednesday.

The claims were from 17 attackers who were arrested in the past month before they had the chance to strike, Sayed Ansari, the spokesman for the Afghan National Directorate of Security told reporters.

Pakistan, which like Afghanistan is a key US ally in the “war on terror”, has repeatedly denied the existence of militant training facilities on its soil.

“All of the detained have confessed they received training for suicide attacks, attacks against schools and institutions from Arab, Chechen and Uzbek instructors on the other side of the border (Pakistan),” said Ansari.

He said illiterate people, those with a poor religious education or from deprived backgrounds were being “brainwashed” in Pakistani training camps across the border and sent to Afghanistan.

Musharraf sparks off outrage in Canada

It seems Canada value Human Life more than the Pakistanis……

WASHINGTON: Add the normally composed Canadians to the list of nationals angered by Musharraf, the motormouth.

Pakistan’s military ruler has sparked off outrage in Canada this week by asking Canadians to stop whining about losing a few soldiers in NATO operations in Afghanistan, and saying Pakistan had suffered far greater losses in the war on terrorism.

“We have suffered 500 casualties, Canadians may have suffered four or five,” Musharraf said in an interview to CBC-TV aired on Tuesday.

“You suffer two dead, and there’s a cry and shout all around the base that there are coffins. Well, we’ve had 500 coffins.”

What has incensed Canadians, aside the fact that their soldiers are dying at the hands of Pakistan-backed Taliban, is Musharraf’s casual bandying of numbers.

ISLAMABAD: Tribal vigilantes have set up an office in the main town in North Waziristan, the Pakistani region where the government signed a pact earlier this month with elders from the tribes to curb Taliban and al Qaeda activity.Two days ago, according to residents, vigilantes, who refer to themselves as mujahideen, or Muslim holy warriors, in leaflets posted around Miranshah, opened an office guarded by armed men in the town’s central market. The leaflet said clerics would be collecting funds to pay for a force aimed at protecting people from criminals. Reuters rang the telephone number on the leaflet, and was told by Maulvi Nizamuddin Borakhel: “We opened the office to take action against masked men who are criminals.” Developments in North Waziristan are being closely monitored by the United States, Afghanistan and NATO members, Britain, Canada and the Netherlands, whose troops have run into fierce Taliban resistance in southern Afghanistan.

Madaris could not be closed on Karzai`s demand: Musharraf

Well Mr.Musharraf if Madaris (Religious School) is not involved in spreading the hatred towards other religion, then why most of terrorist after visiting Pakistan Madaris become radicals, and start preaching hatred towards other religion and questioning Democratic values? If Mr.Karzai is saying that close the Madaris means for sure he knows that most of Madaris teach hatred and create more Taliban’s. You cant close Madaris on Karzai demand you cant close terrorist camp running on your soil on India demand, but you still say that you doing your bit in War Against Terrorism…quite funny….

NEW YORK: President General Pervez Musharraf has said that in his meeting with president George W Bush and Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai, he will present the ’realities’ about Taliban.

“As far as Afghan president’s demand of closing Madiris within Pakistan is concerned, it is totally rubbish. We will not close Madaris on his (Karzai) demands. The religious seminaries are not involved in terrorist activities,” he observed this while addressing a press conference at Roosevelt hotel here Wednesday.  The afghan president’s accusations against Madaris are baseless. He should speak openly. How could we shut down 10,000 Madaris. The Madaris are absolutely not involved in terrorism.

Taliban says bin Laden alive: Al Arabiya TV

DUBAI (Reuters) - Dubai-based Al Arabiya television on Tuesday quoted a Taliban official as saying al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was alive and in good health.

The Arabic channel said its Pakistan bureau had received a call from the unnamed Taliban official a few days after a leaked French secret document said Saudi intelligence believed bin Laden died last month in Pakistan.

“The official said bin Laden was alive and that reports that he is ill are not true,” said Bakr Atyani, Al Arabiya’s Islamabad correspondent. “The Taliban checked with members who are close to al Qaeda that these reports are baseless.”

Bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahri are believed to be hiding in the border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He was last seen in a video statement aired to coincide with the November 2004 U.S. presidential elections.

British forces kill leading terrorist

BAGHDAD, Iraq - British forces shot and killed a leading al-Qaida terrorist Monday more than a year after he embarrassed the U.S. military by making an unprecedented escape from a maximum security military prison in Afghanistan, officials said…Omar al-Farouq was gunned down after he opened fire on British forces during a raid on his home in Basra, 340 miles southeast of Baghdad, British forces spokesman Maj. Charlie Burbridge said.

 Burbridge said he could not comment on whether it was the same man who allegedly led al-Qaida’s Southeast Asia operations, citing British policy not allowing him to link an individual to a specific organization.
