Ekawaaz here once again, I am sorry but I have had some problems to post lately. I have had good and bad days. I am doing pretty well. I am alot more mobile than I expected. I only have internet access in the near by cyber café, as I am not in Delhi due to some personal problem and staying in one remote village, where internet is not avail and even reliance cards doesn’t work so I have to travel near by café to check emails. Because of these problems and ups and downs I don’t get much time to read news and post as I should.

Sorry about not posting !!

Posted by ekawaaz on December 13, 2006

Hi friends, I’m sorry for not posting anything for such a long time. For those who kept checking my blog and asking if I am ok or not, I appreciate your care and understanding. Things have been difficult with work and then the also I am busy with my some personal problems which I think some of you understand about it.  These are not all the reasons why I haven’t posted, as I have been finding some difficulty in seeing anything clearly because of some real personal problems. I’m still generally optimistic but so much happened that still doesn’t make sense to me, or better say shouldn’t have happened, in my opinion. I don’t intend to remain stuck in the past and I intend to focus more on what can be done instead of just asking what went wrong. So much have happened since I last posted that I can’t comment on all in just one post. I am in India, reached Delhi yesterday night with loads of delays not for holidays but for some family problem reasons, so hoping every thing will be sorted out soon. Thanks again for all those who kept checking and asking and I hope I will be able to be more consistent in the future. Soon I will be back with some great news and comments.

British Muslims Organisation Demands Special Treatment

Posted by ekawaaz on August 16, 2006

Britain Muslims organizations are demanding for special holidays for important days in their two main religious festivals - Ramadan and Eid-ul-Adha - should be made public holidays for followers of the faith ( in a way they want special treatment, what a joke) and want to implement Sharia Law for their family matters. What a tragedy at this crucial moment, they come up with the demands, brilliant Idea to black mail any government. No wonder why people are not ready to understand their views. And in one paragraph they said

“’If you give us religious rights, we will be in a better position to convince young people that they are being treated equally along with other citizens.”

So they need this special treatment, so that they can feel equal citizen of this country. Else they think that they are not treated equally, what a Joke….So I guess Hindus, Chinese, Buddhist, Jews all should go and ask for special treatments, right Mr. Leader? And how you will be euqal if you get this special treatments? You will Superior isnt it?

“Muslim leaders summoned to talks with the Government on tackling extremism in their midst called for public holidays to mark their religious festivals. The Whitehall meeting was set up in response to last week’s airline bomb plot discovery. Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly had prepared an uncompromising message on the need to tackle dangerous radicalism. But, in what she admitted were ’sharp’ exchanges, some senior Muslim figures turned the tables yesterday and made a series of demands which also included the introduction of Sharia law for family matters. Dr Syed Aziz Pasha, secretary general of the Union of Muslim Organisations of the UK and Ireland, said: ‘We told her if you give us religious rights, we will be in a better position to convince young people that they are being treated equally along with other citizens.”

Innocent Till Proven Guilty

No lawyers to defend 7/11 blasts accused

Msn News, click on link to read full news

raj.jpg

So Mr. Raj Thackrey is threatening to lawyers, not defend accused involved in Mumbai bombing or face consequences? We need this sort of leaders for our future aren’t we?

And he is leader and President of newly formed political party Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena.

Mr. Thakcrey My only question is with you, you had made the party and I hope you also know the meaning of Democracy right?

In democracy on thing is very important, how power full means majority people treat less power means minority people. In democracy every one got loads of rights, in which one right is Fair Trial. In order to provide Fair Trial in our beloved country with respect, the government made clear and its absolute commitment to fair trial procedures and due process of law. This means a guarantee that accused will have a public trial in which he has a right to representation by lawyers of his choosing and has a full opportunity to challenge the allegations against him. His rights as a defendant and the rights of all victims and witnesses must be fully protected.

So far I know we live democratic country, remember they are only accused its not proved yet whether they had been involved in bombing or not, so till then please allow this trial to go fair one, as whole world is watching us.

Need A Proper Debate

Posted by ekawaaz on August 13, 2006

I still didn’t understand why few people are so blinded that they believe, what ever is happening is a fault of government and its foreign policy. I believe in democracy and we are very fortunate that we are living in one of most democratic state in world. Democracy gives a right to every one to express their feelings and anger, raise their voice. Democracy give every one chance to elect and form a government and their representative, whom they think will and can work towards the betterment of society and help them to feel secure.

But the main point in democracy is how majority treats minority, how powerfully people treats power less people. So far I know UK does treat monitory very well, we had given every right to them, they are first class citizen of this country ( we don’t treat them as a second class citizen).

If we look to some countries (especially Islamic countries) and see how people get treated in their democracy specially minorities I am sure people will be shocked to know about it. Most of British Muslim are saying that they are not happy with the policies of government, ok fair enough but you don’t bomb the whole country because you not happy with few elected members of parliaments and their decision. Did Christians or any other religion other than Muslim bomb the places because of their own country policies? (By the way I am not Christian and got no plan to convert in to Christianity)

At this point what we need is proper debate about this issue, government should do bit more to help these young Muslims to understand how our policies works. We should bring some really intellectual and scholars who understand a lot more about Holy Quran ( not the one who comes in Sharia TV, they bloody don’t agree with each other statements) to tell these people, what Quran says, and help the government to let these people know about UK governments policies and issues.

They must understand it is not possible for any government in the world to make happy every one happy at same time. Because it’s democratic government so they go according to simple rule, majority wins.

Muslims leaders should come forward and give proper statements and assure these young and vulnerable people, that government and normal public of this country is with them, they are not isolated and neglected. We need proper Muslims scholars (not moderate or extremists Muslims) to do this job. To make this country, more safe and secure.

British Asians or British Hindu?

Posted by ekawaaz on August 12, 2006

HINDUS living in
Britain do not want to be described as “Asian”, according to a big study of the community.

Instead, they want to be known as British Indian, Hindu — or even Desi, a Hindi word growing in popularity with the young that means being rooted in one’s home country. At the time of the 2001 Census the Hindu population in
Britain had reached nearly 550,000.

The report, Connecting British Hindus, to be published in the Commons today, was funded by the Government and carried out by the Runnymede Trust and the Hindu Forum.

It found concern about a “general assumption” that any brown-skinned Asian person was Muslim and shows that Hindus feel neglected, marginalised and misunderstood.

Report can be downloaded from here

When I looked on report and on article it’s seem like government is planning to do some thing for Hindu & Sikh community in UK which is in my opinion is correct and very nice gesture of UK government to help Hindu and Sikh community to easily integrate with British multi faith and multicultural society. Because when ever I listen or see, the government of
UK is much more concerned about British Muslims, because of this fact other so called Asian community feeling neglected. When ever you watch a program on TV or listen BBC channel about Asian community it’s always shows you Muslim culture, talk about Muslim culture that’s the reason in Britain today Hindu and Sikhs feels neglected and alienated.

Like for example if you go to hospital if you are Muslim you will be able to get Halal food, while if you Hindu and vegetarian (or say ‘Vaishnava Hindu) can’t eat food with onion and garlic, you wont be able to get food why? Because people in hospitals, don’t understand about our culture and traditions.

Hindus in
Leicester are trying to build crematorium, but till now they haven’t got permission from council, while if you want construct a Mosque you will permission straight away right?

In Leicester Muslims can be buried in their own cemetery within 24 hours to fit in with their religious requirements, while Hindus have been asking for their own crematorium for 20 years.

When government talks about racisms they talk Islam phobia and attack against Muslim community, I had never heard they talk about racisms again British Hindu and Sikh community why? Hindus and Sikhs are also targeted by some idiot’s racist’s people on every day basis. But no one talks about it? Reason is simple in my opinion, simple you shout and you get noticed if you don’t shout you won’t get noticed.

Britain is multicultural and multi faith country but it doesn’t mean cultural parity. Multiculturalism does give you space and right to follow your own tradition and culture.

So in end it about Identity among Hindus & Sikhs living in
UK and in other countries around the world.

Hopefully in future we will see some more efforts form governments to tackle this problem, which help Hindus & Sikhs community here to integrate with British society easily.

Sex attacker freed but he must say sorry in a letter.

The “geeky” son of a millionaire who sexually assaulted a sleeping student was spared jail after agreeing to write a letter of apology to his victim.

Prashant Modi walked free from the Old Bailey yesterday despite admitting attacking the 22-year-old Swedish woman in his hotel room when she was “out of it”.

Modi, 33, had been facing 18 months in prison. But the Indian was given a six-month suspended sentence when the judge used new legislation to make an “activity requirement” on the defendant.

Modi lives in
New Delhi and his father Yogendra is the chairman of Great Eastern

Energy, an Indian-based oil and gas company.

Get a Man from any tribe he will tell you straight away that raping is wrong and it’s a Sin. I hate these sorts of rules and judgments. Every one knows even dumb person can tell you, if you Rape you will be jailed? Mr.Modi is rapist and he should serve the Jail sentence and Mr. Judge should be removed form his post
