Happy Birthday, India!

On August 15, 1947, we claimed our independence from
Britain and Democracy was born. The
India is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on August 15th, Indians celebrate that freedom and independence.

I invite all nations to celebrate with us online this 15th of August.

Always remember this paragraph of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s famous speech.

“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps,
India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance….. We end today a period of ill fortune, and
India discovers herself again”

Happy Birthday,
India!

The magical moment of freedom was described by poet Pradeep in film Jagriti (1954):

“paase sabhi ulat gaye dushman ki chaal ke akshar sabhi palat gaye bhaarat ke bhaal ke manzil pe aaya mulk har bala ko taal ke sadiyon ke baad phir ude badal gulaal ke ham laaye hain toofaan se kashti nikaal ke iss desh ko rakhana mere bachchon sambhaal ke tum hi bhavishhya ho mere bhaarat vishaal ke

is desh ko rakhana mere bachchon sambhaal ke”
