From golf to yoga: how India treats its troops

If you are looking for better and disciplined life and of course good future join Indian Army. Indian Army is short of about 11000 officers as many young generations today are choosing to join private sector in order to get more wages and lavishing life. Of course private sector does gives you bit more money but Army career also gives you loads of benefits and on top of that will make you a disciplined and honorable person.

India’s large section of society still thinks that career in military is all about War and War. So you want an Army career huh? Good for you soldier! Huh? You don’t want to be a soldier? Um well…..that’s OK too!

Perhaps the common (mis)conception or misunderstanding of a military career is that you have to be a solider. That isn’t the case. Indian Army provides numerous roles from very diverse field to support its front line troops. Indian Army is diverse organization and recognizes the need for numerous different roles. Admin, doctors, engineers, mechanics, teachers, human resources, officers, IT professional, and much other discipline are put to use within the military.

Indian Army has very good benefits packages and healthcare, and although the obvious hazards of the job are there, the life of a military career isn’t as extreme as one might imagine.

Certainly a career in the army isn’t for everyone – but there is a much wider scope of careers available than many people realize. Definitely worth a look the following website even if you not very much interested in career with Indian Army.

FORGET the call centre in Bangalore or the software laboratory in Hyderabad. If you’re looking for the good life, join the Indian Army today!

Such is the message of a slick new television advertisement launched by the army to try to revamp its image and reverse a brain drain to the burgeoning private sector.

It shows officers living in idyllic country cottages, trying their hands at golf, sailing and fencing, and unwinding at extravagant garden parties.

  1. Well, there is no denying that being in the army has some of its strong points – inculcation of discipline in life, a decent career, feeling of doing something for the nation, etc. There are negative factors as well, but those are somewhat lesser; and the armed forces are also seen as still a respectable career.
So, great topic for a post, and if it encourages people to go ahead, then it’s great.

  2. More than anything else, it is the respect that an army man get from fellow citizens (civilains like us).

  3. HYDERABADS SIASAT URDU DAILY EDITOR IN SEX RACKET

A Hyderabad based urdu newspaper siasat editor mr amir ali khan and mr mazhar and mr alamdar were involved in a sex racket today as exposed by MIM floor leader in the state assembly in which a young girl was sold to alleged sex racket after being brought in a trap by offering her a scholarship and then taking her to a farmhouse and raping her which are seirous offenses and even forcing her parents not to file a police complaint and threatnig them with dire consequences.Even the National Law Trust has sent a letter dated on 14-09-2006 signed by its Chairman Mr Khalid Nishu to all the Newspaper editors to take up the story as it damages the reputation of the media and the victim Mrs Mariam Fatima had even met the President of India seeking justice and the State Home Minister has appointed a team led by deputy Commissoner of police Mr Madhu Sudan Reddy IPS to investigate the case as promised by the Minister in the Assembly .

Army career in my eyes hold very high respect. Army gives their today for our tomorrow. Because of them many of us sleep without worry. So When I heard about this news I thought to share with you guys. Hopefully some people get motivation 🙂

  5. Interesting but one can’t help feeling that it is sad that a respected instituttion like the Army has to advertise like this for recruitment.

  6. @Hiren

It is sad but I am happy to hear that, atleast they had started new way to communicate people and make them understand what really Army is all about.

  7. Sadder is the string of scandals that we hear about lately, involving the Army. Common man used to think Judiciary and armed forces are above corruption, but doesn’t seem to be true anymore. 😦

  8. There are reports in the media, that an increasing number of defence men, are committing suicides.

On a recent television program it was said: Based on internal investigations, the army concluded that 98% of this is due to the conditions prevailing back in their homes – like wife, neighbours, never ending court cases of property etc. This apparently causes havoc in their lives. (cannot find a news link for this one yet)

But the main story is here:

  9. @Apun

Thanks for link and sharing with us this report. Well Army people comiting sucide in my opinion becuase they are lacking of proper support they suppose to get from Government. High ranking Army officials can that sort of support but Army man like subedar or jawans struggle to find support they need to keep their motivation alive. People who joins the Army they know very well that hardship and total commitment towards nation is comes first. But in return when dont get same sort of commitment back from their officials they get frustrated and de-motivate this lead them to commit sucide.

    @Ajay
Corruption is always their and you can find in every field and in every where in world. But question what we are doing as citizen in getting rid of this evil?

  12. It is said, Indians are blind to the “bitter truth” in Kashmir.
It has been alleged by some students of an Indian University
(described as “a group of ‘adventure junkies,’
who traveled across Kashmir and interacted with students and people that almost all Indians are casually ignorant about the Kashmir conflict and about the realities of issuess of violations of the Human Rights in Kashmir.
This has been picked up and utilised by propagandists who claims
Indian media is biased and has been persistently “feeding lies” to the Indian public.Read more kashmir myths – abuses ONLY by indian forces
