MADURAI: After a decade-long struggle, Dalits at Panthapuli village in Tirunelveli district entered the Kannanallur Mariamman temple with help of district officials defying a ban imposed by caste Hindus. Dalits, led by district collector G.Prakash and Superintendent of Police Asra Garg, entered the temple at Panthapuli near Sankarankovil on Wednesday. Though the caste Hindus resented the entry, they did not, however, make any effort to resist the move, apparently due to a stern warning issued by Prakash.

Secondly it is sickening that we still continue to describe some people (or should I call our own citizens of India) among us as Dalits, and Untouchables and it is very unfortunate that our national government and some national media too legitimize this label of discrimination for many reasons (that we can discuss it later). We don’t need words like Dalits, Untouchables in our Indian society. It’s just a shame that even today Caste System still occupies an important place in the Hindu religion.

If Hindu society wants to survive then it’s high time to time to stop discrimination (Dalits, Untouchables) from our society and start treating everyone equally….

To be honest he is the one of the most stupid person or so called defense analyst I have ever seen or heard. Can’t believe that Pakistan have this sort of analyst who can put whole nation in chaos by issuing all nonsense statements in media. What he is trying to get by issuing statement that Western Nation believes his theory and knows that India terror attack was done by Jews Zionist and Hindu Zionist but not supporting Pakistan for different reasons? I am not able to get it. Does he think whole world is blind and can’t see things from their own eyes? A villager, who cannot be named for his own protection, said the village was an active recruiting ground for the banned militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba. ‘We know that boy [caught in Mumbai] is from Faridkot,’ he said. ‘We knew from the first night [of the attack]. They brainwash our youth about jihad, there are people who do it in this village. It is so wrong,’ he added.

Does God’s Need Protection? My opinion on religiously motivated violence:

Well it hard to understand why now a day’s 99% violence and terrorist attacks happen under the name of religion. Does any religion say that’s you should bomb country or attack people of different religion because they are different colours, got different culture and believe in different faith?

Recently when Pope commented some thing on sensitive issue, we had seen the reaction of people; a nun was gunned down in Somalia after a cleric declared that “whoever offends our prophet Mohammed should be killed on the spot by the nearest Muslim.” Yemen, where conversion away from Islam can be punishable by death, was threatened to cut diplomatic ties with the Vatican. More than half a dozen of churches have been burned down. Al-Qaida in Iraq warned Pope Benedict XVI on that its war against Christianity and the West will go on until Islam takes over the world, and Iran’s supreme leader called for more protests over the pontiff’s remarks on Islam., and only two three days ago we heard the news that some Hindus fanatics forced Christians to bow head in front of Hindu God.

Well I don’t want to comment on what Pope said in his famous speech, nor do I want to go in details about Hindu fanatics who forced the Christians to bow heads in front of Hindu God or what Muslims preachers preach about religion and what Muslims should do to protect Islam from non believers.

But my question is why all these people talk or start violence in the name of religion? Saying we need to protect our religion and God, it’s our duty. Total Lie’s

 

Does our God (Jesus Christ, Lord Krishna, Lord Ram, Allah and Guru Gobind Sahib) need any sort of guards or protection, to protect themselves, their believers and their preaching? No

 

If you have believe in your religion, follow the Holy books and have faith in your God, then you should understand that God does not need any protection, he can protect himself and also other human beings, God can see who is doing wrong and who is doing right, and he can do justice. We have no rights to do justice on behalf of him. We are created by God! God created us for his own pleasure. God’s justice creates and sustains the conditions for life. God has made an all-inclusive covenant with all creation.

 

People who call them God’s army or protector of religion, faith, believes and God, in any religion, I don’t think they hold their god as a highest authority as in my opinion God does not need any sort of protection.

 

God or you can call what ever you believe in has never forced and will never force anyone to follow his religion, believes or teachings e.g. Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism Christianity and Islam, so why these people (so called army of God) is trying to force their views on other peoples of different believes?

 

God has made religion but I guess he never had clue that followers of the religion will bring bad name to his teachings.

 

God is Eternal; God does not fear death because it is a gateway created by God.

 

God don’t require any army or so called religious preachers who preach hate towards other community and religion.

 

What does God require of us?

 

Act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God. Our peoples need peace that restore right relationships, preserve responsible communities, shrink hate and inequalities, and allow space for all of creation (religion) to flourish in its diversity.

British Asians or British Hindu?

HINDUS living in Britain do not want to be described as “Asian”, according to a big government sponsored research in Britain. Instead, they want to be known as British Indian, British Hindu — or even Desi, a Hindi word growing in popularity with the young that means being rooted in one’s home country.

UK Hindus want to be called `British Hindus’ or `British Indians’

By Mike Lockey, London, Sept 25: Government-sponsored research in Britain has revealed that Hindus in the UK prefer to be called “British Hindus” or “British Indians” rather than “British Asians”.

As a result of these findings, some leading British Asians, amongst them being the novelist Hari Kunzru and South Asian Women Unite’s Amrit Wilson, have been reported as saying that the research could foment social divisions between Hindus and Muslims.

Good to see this report and glad to know that UK Government is planning to do some thing for Hindu & Sikh community in UK which is in my opinion is correct and very nice gesture of UK government to help Hindu and Sikh community to easily integrate with British multi faith and multicultural society. Hindus are the country’s third largest religious group, after Christians and Muslims. When ever I listen to radio or watch television, the government of UK is much more concerned about British Muslims, because of this fact other so called Asian community feeling neglected. When ever you watch a program on TV or listen BBC channel about Asian community it’s always shows you Muslim culture, talk about Muslim culture that’s the reason in Britain today Hindu and Sikhs are feeling neglected and alienated.

Like for example if you go to hospital if you are Muslim you will be able to get Halal food, while if you Hindu and vegetarian (or say ‘Vaishnava Hindu) can’t eat food with onion and garlic, you wont be able to get food why? Because people in hospitals, don’t understand about Hindu culture and traditions.

Hindus in Leicester are trying to build crematorium, but till now they haven’t got permission from council, while if you want construct a Mosque you will permission straight away right?
In Leicester Muslims can be buried in their own cemetery within 24 hours to fit in with their religious requirements, while Hindus have been asking for their own crematorium for 20 years.

When government talks about racism they talk Islam phobia and attack against Muslim community, I had never heard they talk about racism again British Hindu and Sikh community why? Hindus and Sikhs are also targeted by some idiot’s racist’s people on every day basis. But no one talks about it? Reason is simple in my opinion, simple you shout and you get noticed if you don’t shout you won’t get noticed.

Britain is multicultural and multi faith country but it doesn’t mean cultural parity. Multiculturalism does give you space and right to follow your own tradition and culture.

So in end it about Identity among Hindus & Sikhs living in UK and in other countries around the world. Hopefully in future we will see some more efforts form governments to help Hindus & Sikhs community so that they can integrate with British community easily and help the country to.

When Hindus wear the burkha

Are we all gone crazy? India a Secular country or Islamic Country?

Malti Laad is looking forward to going shopping with her friends next week. It’s Ramzan after all, and, she points out, “Hamari Diwali bhi to hai.” As the group of veiled women samples the goodies on Mohammed Ali Road, they will help Malti buy what’s on top of her Diwali shopping list: a black burkha. The one she wears now belongs to the school where she teaches.

As Malti talks to me inside the school’s air-conditioned audio-visual room, a middle-aged, bearded male enters announcing his presence with a loud “excuse me”. Without a pause in the conversation, Malti pulls down her double-layered naqaab (face veil). As I try to adjust to the pair of kohl-lined eyes that this jovial 23-year-old has suddenly transformed into, the man walks towards us with glasses of water, his head turned firmly away from us. 
The Al-Jamiatul-Fikriya Islamic English School in central Mumbai, which is run entirely on Islamic lines, is full of such surprises. A bearded man in a white kurta pyjama and namaz cap welcomes me in fluent English, commenting on the sudden downpour. Then I see a string of teachers appear, their eyes looking out from black veils as they greet me, “Good evening, ma’am.” Some of them are Hindu.

Indian Cultural Centre in Dhaka attacked

DHAKA: The Indian Cultural Centre here on Wednesday was attacked by a group of people. They forced their way into the building, beat up the guards and other officials and destroyed furniture and other articles.

The High Commission has filed a case with police.

The cultural centre had been functioning in the building since Bangladesh independence.

Police said a group of “miscreants” attacked the centre.
